Accounts and access
What is CharterTasks?
CharterTasks is a local service marketplace that connects customers with freelancers for practical jobs and home service tasks.
Do I need an account to use the platform?
Guests may browse public pages, but customers and freelancers need an account to use private features such as posting jobs, accepting jobs, messaging, profile management, and payment related workflows.
Are customer and freelancer accounts different?
Yes. Customers and freelancers have separate account areas, onboarding steps, dashboards, and platform actions.
Jobs and freelancers
How does a customer post a job?
A customer creates an account, completes the required setup, then posts a job with service details, category, location, preferred time, budget, and notes.
How does a freelancer accept work?
Freelancers can view available jobs that match their service categories and accept suitable jobs based on platform rules and eligibility.
What does freelancer verification mean?
Verification may include profile review, identity or document upload, and admin approval. Approved freelancers may show a verified badge or category based trust signal where applicable.
Tracking and payments
When does live tracking start?
Tracking is intended to start only after a freelancer accepts a job. It is not intended to begin before job acceptance.
Will customers see ETA and distance?
Supported map features may include route, ETA, distance, and location updates after the job is accepted. These features may depend on Google Maps API setup, browser permissions, and platform configuration.
How will payments work?
Payment features may use approved third party payment providers. Full payment, refunds, cancellation fees, and payout workflows depend on the payment setup and platform rules.
Safety and support
What should I do if there is a dispute?
Users should keep communication clear, provide screenshots or evidence where needed, and contact support with the related job details.
Is CharterTasks responsible for emergency situations?
No. CharterTasks support is not an emergency response service. For immediate danger or emergencies, contact the appropriate local emergency service first.
How do I contact support?
You can contact support through the Contact Us page or by emailing support@chartertasks.com.
Still need help?
Contact support with your account email, user role, job details if applicable, and a clear description of the issue.
